Adding Dollars and Cents

Each item has a price made of dollars and cents.
First add the dollars together.
Then add the cents together.
Write the total price as dollars and cents.
The filled-in example below shows the answer.

What does this exercise practice?

The child learns to deal with two units at the same time and practices calculating with money in everyday life.

Common pitfalls

Dollars and cents must not be mixed up. Add the dollars first, then the cents separately.
