Recognize Solids

Every geometric solid has its own name.
Look closely at the shape or solid and connect it with the right name.
Cube, sphere, cylinder and rectangular prism (a box) are the most important solids.

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

This exercise practices recognizing flat shapes and solids, an important basis for later spatial geometry.

Common pitfalls

Children easily mix up cubes and rectangular prisms (boxes). Ask specifically: are all faces the same size? Then it is a cube.

How to practice at home

Look for solids around the house together. A ball is a sphere, a can is a cylinder, a game die is a cube.
