Tangram

At the top you see a gray silhouette, below it lie several pieces.
Find the pieces that fill the silhouette exactly: without gaps, without overhang and without overlapping.
The pieces are not turned and not mirrored, they already lie the right way around.
One piece is left over. Check off the pieces that fit.

Example

For parents

What does this exercise practice?

Tangram trains careful looking and putting a shape together from its parts, the child spots which shapes together make exactly one picture.

Common pitfalls

Some pieces look as if they fit but stick out somewhere. It helps to try each piece on the silhouette and watch out for gaps and edges.

How to practice at home

Play it with paper or building blocks, lay several pieces on an outline until it is filled exactly, one piece may be left over.
