With bigger numbers the same trick from up to 100 helps you. You split the second number so that you first reach the next ten and then add the rest.
Example: 246 + 5
246 + 5 = 246 + 4 + 1
= 250 + 1
= 251

519 + 7 = 519 + 1 + 6 = 10 + 6 = 526
