A fraction says which part of a whole is colored.
For that you divide the shape into equal parts.
This is how you read the fraction:
1. Count all the equal parts. This number is the denominator (below).
2. Count the colored parts. This number is the numerator (above).
3. A circle of 4 parts with 1 colored part shows the fraction one quarter.
