In a row different shapes lie mixed up.
You count how often each shape appears.
This is how you do it:
1. Pick a shape, for example the triangle.
2. Go along the row from left to right and count only that shape.
3. Write the number in the box and carry on with the next shape.
The number written in shows the answer.
Example
For parents
What does this exercise practice?
Confidently recognize and name basic geometric shapes and count them systematically.
Common pitfalls
Children jump back and forth in the row while counting and count shapes twice. Tapping through the row with a finger helps.
How to practice at home
On a walk, look for shapes, for example round signs and square windows, and count which kind there are more of.
