A point in time says when something starts or ends: 7:00.
A time span says how long something lasts: 2 hours.
Here is how:
1. Read the left clock. That is the first point in time.
2. Count on the hours of the time span around the clock face.
3. Draw the hands of the right clock and write down both clock times.
The filled in times show the answer.
Example
For parents
What does this exercise practice?
This exercise combines reading and drawing: the child calculates with clock times and shows the result on the clock face itself.
Common pitfalls
With a half hour the hour hand stands between two numbers, not on the next number. It helps to set the long minute hand on the 6 first and then move the short one halfway.
How to practice at home
When heading out, ask what the clock looks like once two hours have passed, and move the hand on the clock with a finger.
