In a number sequence it always carries on in the same step.
First find the step, then you simply count on like that.
Example: 213,456, 223,456, 233,456, ...
Here 10,000 is added each time, so the next number is 243,456.
A sequence can also go in steps of 100,000 or backwards.
Example: 987,654, 887,654, 787,654, ... (100,000 less each time).

Children often forget to check the step. Say it out loud: from 213,456 to 223,456 is 10,000, so it carries on in steps of 10,000.

Count together from a starting number in steps of 10,000 or 100,000, forwards and backwards. Whoever hesitates first loses.
